lawn is dying-large brown spots with white worms at edge

The grubs you are seeing are very common and the population rises and falls on roughly a 3 year cycle. You are probably seeing the worst year in the cycle. https://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/insects/find/lawn-and-turf-insects/root-feeding/
Thank you. How do I get rid of them?
Read over the information in the fact sheets on the link and choose a grub control chemical. Or go to the garden center and buy some grub killer for lawns and apply it. A curative chemical must be used in spring.
