Wisteria vine

Asked May 4, 2018, 1:44 PM EDT

I have had a wisteria vine growing on a pergola for over 15 years. It has been thick and full for the last 10 years. It appears to be totally dead - no green in any of the branches. Have you heard of any issues with wisteria this year? Could it be from our harsh winter or disease? Just wondering whether or not anyone has reported similar issues.

It is too early to be worried. Even the wisteria vines at garden centers haven't leafed out yet. The soil is still too cool. Give it a few more weeks before making a decision. The winter actually was good for plants as snow is a wonderful insulator.
