lawn pest

lawn has what look like an aerial picture of "a series of interconnected rivers" 1 - 1 1/2 " wide. I was told by a neighbor this is phonetically "fruze". Do you have any idea what this is and what I can about it? This showed up after the snow melted from that area.

A photo would have been helpful. However, you probably had voles. They move along under the snow and eat grass and any seeds, etc. that they can find. Just rake it up. Usually the grass roots are fine and the grass will come back. I also had a bunch of voles this year. That is what I am doing.
