Asparagus Bed

Asked April 25, 2018, 11:22 AM EDT

I have a nice asparagus bed and I usually cut the stalks back every fall, but because of health reasons I did not. Now I am wondering if it is safe (before the frost goes out) to burn off those dried mature stalks. What do you think?

There would be no reason to remove the old stalks from your asparagus bed. New growth will come through. I am not familiar with the burn method and could find no specifics on this.
