Wintering a Tropical Hibiscus

Asked April 14, 2018, 2:41 PM EDT

I brought my tropical hisbiscus inside for the winter. It has been blooming all winter. It still has a few blooms on it. Before I move it back outside when it gets warmer should I cut it back and how much?Anything else I should do with it?

You need not trim back your plant unless you believe it is too big. Never trim off more than 1/3rd at a time. Once the evenings are consistently warm you can bring it outside. Start first by putting it in shade. After a few days move to afternoon shade and then to full sun. The gradual exposure to sun will help prevent sunburn. You can then start fertilizing it with a weak solution.
