Pruning oak trees?

Asked April 11, 2018, 6:45 PM EDT

So I’ve read allot online about timing on pruning oak trees, but my question is- 1:with the weather we have had this year is it still to late to prune being April 11th? I planned on doing it Friday evening or Saturday morning. Plans to afew weeks ago but got snowed out. 2: mixed reviews online about dressing the fresh cut. Does one use paint, fresh prune wound sealant or just leave it? Thank you for your time!

With the Spring we are having pruning is safe for at least the next two weeks.
Do not coat the wounds as that actually holds moisture and doesn't allow the wounds to dry. You can check for yourself by checking
