Barley Brewers waste as feed

Asked April 10, 2018, 12:09 PM EDT

I have access to brewers' grain that had been used for beer making. 6 row & 2 row barley are the primary grains used to make the beer. What would be the nutrition value for this in a beef ration? Are there recommendations for this as a feed? Would this affect flavor in finishing a beef animal?

Brewers grain would be about 23% dry matter with a Net Energy of 88 and Crude protein level of about 52%. Feeding recommendations would be 3-5 lbs/hd/day and access to good pasture or good dry hay. You would not experience a difference in taste when consuming the animal.
