Milkweed and native wildflower Restoration

Asked April 8, 2018, 8:55 PM EDT

I am doing a restoration project. I will plant milkweed(common and butterfly weed) from plugs and wildflowers from seeds(https://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/northeast/northeast-pollinator-wildflower-seed-mix). This will be on an area that is currently a lawn and a sparsely wooded area. My current plan is to till it, spread the seeds, step the seeds into the soil, then water and care for them. I would like to plant early May. What would be the best way to plant, tank care of the plants, and make sure they grow best?

Montgomery County Maryland

This is the best information we have been able to find on establishing a meadow such as you describe. Please read it over carefully and adjust your plan if necessary:
