Shade-tolerant natives with summer-long blooms

Asked March 30, 2018, 12:29 PM EDT

I have a shady flower bed that I'd like to devote to blooming natives supporting native bees. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Shade is always a challenge. Most plants need some sun, but there are some natives that can tolerant part shade. Here are links to two facts sheets you might find helpful.

You may want to pay particular attention to those that say sun to part-shade or part-shade, such as Jacob ’s ladder. An added benefit of this plant is that it is also deer resistant.
