Organic Agriculture Research

Asked March 26, 2018, 11:59 AM EDT

OSU has numerous beautiful extension and outreach centers across the state. I am wondering if you would be able to tell me how many acres of OSU extension centers are devoted to organic agriculture research? Thank you!

We are working on this for you.

Hello again,

It appears that among 5 sites, Oregon State University manages close to 40 acres that are either certified organic, or managed as such for research purposes. The majority of this acreage is at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center (NWREC) and the Hermiston Agricultural Research & Extension (HAREC). Some of the sites/acreage are part of the main campus in Corvallis (not an extension center, per se).

Hope this helps!
