Help My Sago Palm is Sick

The trunk of my Sago Palm has a yellowish foamy growth on it. What can I do? Please look at pictures

I have spoken with 3 agents and gotten 3 different answers...basically no one is sure what is going on from the picture. One agent believes it could be a rot. One agent thought it could be a female palm. The third agent said he could not tell from the photo. I wish I had a definite answer...but I do not...and that is why it has taken me so long to respond. :(
