Spring Bulb Planting

Asked March 12, 2018, 1:15 PM EDT

I planted a front bed with wonderful tulips, daffodils & siberian irises last fall. They're coming up and I couldn't be more excited. Now I'm learning about summer bulbs planted in the spring. Can these go in the same bed? How would you go about doing that? When? Thank you so much.

Tender, summer-flowering bulbs are planted in the spring after danger of frost.
Most likely you will be planting after the spring bulbs have flowered and some may or may not have lost their foliage. Mark the area where your spring bulbs are and plant your summer flower bulbs in your desired location.

You did not mention what bulbs you are planting. Some summer bulbs are not cold hardy and may have to be dug up and stored in a frost free location over the winter.
