Did we kill our tree ?!?

Asked March 6, 2018, 8:29 PM EST

Hello, We have a potted Norfolk Pine tree we bring in for our Christmas tree, but this year we apparently put back outside too soon. The branches are droopy and beginning to yellow at the branch tips. Is this damage from cold temperatures ? Is it dead ? Is there anything we can do ?

A bit hard to say, but it is likely damage from our cold. But, I would not give up too soon. Wait until the temps warm and then cut into a live bud. If the bud inside is dark color, the branch is likely dead. If you can access the roots, see if there are new white root tips starting to emerge. Frozen roots will appear dark.
If the tree shows some life, fertilizer will help. But wait a few months before deciding it is dead.
