Willow tea to stimulate rooting in cuttings

Asked February 17, 2018, 7:40 PM EST

Willow twigs certainly do root readily develop roots. But do teas of willow twigs really stimulate other plant cuttings to form roots? If so, do infusions of tepid water or boiling water work better? That is, do the high temperatures improve the infusions or harm the plant hormones efficacy?

We do not have research on willow tea and cuttings. There is a lot of anecdotal evidence on line and you will have to do a search. Here is one link that you can check out https://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/southerngarden/roseprop.html
