Hello, Squash bugs are ruining my life and my squash plants. Happens every year. Aside from choosing another plant, can you advise how to eliminate my nemeses? Thank you,

Squash bug can have two generations in MD. There are no easy answers. Cover your plants immediately with row cover to prevent egg laying. However, the row cover will have to be removed when the plants flower for pollination. See more http://extension.umd.edu/growit/beyond-basics/floating-row-cover
Don't apply mulch around these plants if numbers are high as this gives these bugs places to hide.

Take a look at our pest profile on squash bug for prevention and control. Check seed catalogs for cultivars of summer and winter squash that are resistant to squash bugs. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/squash-bug-vegetables
