Himalayan Blackberries in riparian zone

Asked February 6, 2018, 2:53 PM EST

Hello, I had heard from an OSU employee that there are nonprofits that can support small farms in removing blackberries. Can you provide me with more information? Thank you.

There are conservation programs that will aid landowners in invasive weed removal and riparian restoration including native plantings. Whether or not the programs will consider a specific project depends on several factors including your site, program priorities, water quality improvement potential, if the stream is fish bearing, available funding, etc. These are the organizations that may be able to help you with your project:
Your local Watershed Council
Upper Willamette Soil and Water Conservation District
USDA- Natural Resource Conservation Service
USDA- Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program
