CCA Pressure Treated Wood

Asked February 2, 2018, 12:05 PM EST

I have a 25 year old deck that is being dismantled. Can I use the wood to make raised beds for vegetables? Would all the arsenic be gone by this point?

We have have no research and cannot say if the arsenic is gone.
Avoid using older types of wood treatments such as CCA, creosote, and Penta-treated lumber for raised beds. Take a look at our website for recommended materials to use
