Crystal tube

I found a rock with a "tube" filled with quarts and at first looked like a fossiled bug

Kentucky geology fossil

I am not a geologist, but I'm 99 and 44/100 percent sure that this is not a fossil.

If you wish to try to identify it, first try looking to see if there is a local "rock hound" club in your area. Some of the members may be very good at identification. You might also see if there is a rock or gem society in the area.

Here is a link to the faculty of the Univ. of Kentucky's Earth Science department: https://ees.as.uky.edu/faculty . You might want to send these pictures to one or two of the specialists there, to see if they can help you.

Good luck!
