Fig tree

We have two fig trees. I did not winterize them yet and now we have this big cold snap. Am I too late? Can I still winterize and save them for this year? thanks

Chances are the damage is already severe. Though the roots generally will survive and the tree regrow in one growing season, do not expect fruit until the following season.

It might not be a bad idea to prevent further or more severe damage, however. A few minutes spent now could help it rebound faster. Who knows what's ahead this winter.
