I need guidelines for feeding and worming and vaccinations in a 9 month old jersey heifer that has had nothing done and is new to me

Feeding guidelines will depend on feeds (forages) that you have available or access to. You can contact your county MSU Extension office for information about the MSU Extension dairy educator who covers your area. Local feed companies also may have employees who can help you with an appropriate ration.

You should contact a local veterinarian to determine the best worming and vaccination protocols for your heifer. It is important to establish a veterinarian/client/patient/relationship (VCRC) to ensure good health care for your heifer.
