Soil test for blueberries
1. How do I go about getting my soil tested for a proposed site for blueberries next year? 2. How do I get on a list to receive the monthly MG newsletter? 3. Are there ever any field trips to the Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture in Corvallis?
Thank for your questions about gardening and OSU’s programs. First, you can contact A & L Western Labs for pH testing, but a far less expensive method is to purchase an inexpensive kit at a garden center ($5), for a onetime test. More cheaply, you can buy litmus paper online, for many tests. (I’ve heard photography operations sell them, too.) Second, you would automatically be placed on the Marion County MG newsletter were you a member of the chapter, but you can access the monthly newsletters here: http://extension.oregonstate.edu/marion/garden-gate-newsletters Third, I suggest that you contact the OCCUH through its manager to learn if and when tours are given. His email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
