Rust on serviceberry?

Asked November 13, 2017, 7:14 PM EST

I've attached a photo of the front and back of a serviceberry leaf. I think this is a rust issue? But not 100% sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This has no symptoms of rust. Drying at the edges and tips indicates drought stress, and we did have drought conditions this summer and early fall. If you still have the leaves in good condition you can submit them to the MSU Diagnostic Lab for inspection under the microspoe. Here is ther website---

Rake up all the leaves and discard in the trash, in case there is any fungus on them. This helps reduce the fungui for next year. thanks for using our service.
