How do I " winter" my rose bushes? They were planted this past Spring.

Hello,
I hope you enjoyed your roses this past season.

Below is a link to a detailed explanation of winter rose care. Basically, if you think the roses might get damaged during heavy winter snows, prune them now. If not, wait until spring, which is the preferred time. Also, you need to mulch around the crown of the rose, You can either use dirt or mulch.
