I have about 9 acres of timber on my property and a lumber company wants to come by next week and give me a price to harvest it. How do I determine a price and go about the process? Daniel Charlebois Mount Orab

The recommendation would be to get someone involved that knows timber. Someone who can act as an agent for you when it comes to which trees to harvest, how to manage the harvest and the clean up.

The Ohio Division of Forestry does offer a service of walking you wood lot and giving some advice. They do not do all of the stuff I mentioned above. A consulting forester would be best for this.
