Garden soil/compost

Asked November 8, 2017, 10:10 PM EST

I just tore out my flower garden and will be building raised beds this coming week. I'd like to get good garden soil/compost to fill them with this fall yet so it has time to sit over the winter. Wondering if you could offer suggestions on where to buy good quality compost and soil? I will have 4 6'x8'x12" beds
Thanks for any advice!

Hi! What a great question. The best thing to do is get a garden blend/soil in bulk from a local greenhouse or garden center. (It will need to be delivered.) DO NOT buy top soil. It may be cheaper but it is NOT what you want for healthy soil. If you have the time, visit a couple places that sell a garden blend and look at it first.
