What is it?

Hi. I am a home gardener. This Spring I found a bunch of seedlings growing wild in one of my gardens. I uprooted most of them. But they looked interesting, even exotic to me so I left two to grow. I haven't been able to figure out what they are. I was hoping you all could identify them for me. I compost so maybe they are something that survived. Thanks for your help.

These are papayas. Since they are tropical, they will not be winter hardy here.

Thank you. That was my suspicion.
