bugs in lettuce

My lettuce are always chewed up by insects. What can I do to stop this?

Lettuce can be susceptible to several types of pests such as slugs, cabbage looper, etc. It would be helpful to identify the type of pest you are dealing with. Depending upon the vegetable, weather, and life cycle of the insect it is possible that you may have some insect feeding throughout the season.
