Evergreen planting or store indoors

Asked October 27, 2017, 5:28 PM EDT

I have 2 dwarf alberta spruce, 3 birds nest spruce, 3 dwarf mugo pine and 2 hetz midget arborvitea that are in 2 quart pails that I would like to plant tomorrow. Is it too late and if so how do I keep them alive until spring?

It's past the optimum time for planting evergreens but doing it now is probably better than trying to keep them over winter by other means. After planting, spread 3-4 inches of mulch over the roots and water well until the ground freezes.
