Japanese stiltgrass disposal

Asked October 16, 2017, 11:26 PM EDT

Is it ok to send the Japanese stiltgrass that I've stuffed into garden paper bags to the recycle center for composting? I looked up how best to eradicate this weed and read it should be dried out first and then disposed of and not to be composted. I have such an invasion in my yard, I could fill a dozen+ garden bags.

If the stiltgrass was picked in the last several months it was in seed. Place the paper bags in black trash bags and keep several months in the sun. Then place in the landfill or trash.
