trees infected with Rust Fungus

Asked October 9, 2017, 12:26 PM EDT

I have two trees that have rust fungus. I would like to remove them and replant. Do I need to treat the soil before replanting ? I was thinking of planting 2 Crepe Myrtles in there place and I have stone landcaping. Please help.

The rust that infected your tree would not infect a crape myrtle. You do not need to do anything to treat the area before planting.
