Tree borers and flowers

Asked October 2, 2017, 7:20 PM EDT

I just planted some daffodil bulbs underneath a weeping cherry and found some borer larvae. With another tree we had I used an insect drench that took care of the problem, but there were no flowers underneath. There are established flower beds underneath this tree aside from the bulbs just planted. How do I take care of these pests without harming the flowers? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

We do not have enough information to answer your question. Are the larvae in your soil? If so, It is possible you may be referring to white grubs and they are not an issue. It can be normal to find grubs in the soil and there are several species.
You can expose them to the birds.
Are there larvae in your bulbs? Send us photos so we can see what you may be dealing with.
