when should I plant perennial ryegrass in an non-irrigated field?

Thanks for your question about planting ryegrass. Here's a link to an OSU Extension article that has loads of information about this crop. Specific to your question, on page 8, it "can be seeded in spring or late summer. In addition, it may be fall-seeded in areas with mild winters." Table 1 has the seeding rates for both irrigated and non-irrigated fields, along with companion seeding rates. Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
