Grub Prevention

Asked September 14, 2017, 11:50 AM EDT

Earlier this year I had a major grub infestation issue with my lawn. After receiving my soil analysis and applying the recommended fertilizer along with Grubex (Scott's product) my lawn is looking quite nice. However I'm wondering if I should apply something this fall to head off a repeat of grubs next spring. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to check your soil for grubs before applying more grub killer. If you find you still have a grub problem, then September is the best time to apply grub control. I suggest reading this article for good information on recognizing a grub problem and how to control it with the appropriate pesticide: http://msue.anr.msu.edu/news/how_to_choose_and_when_to_apply_grub_control_products_for_your_lawn
