preserving seeds

Asked September 8, 2017, 12:55 PM EDT

I am going to transplant my tall daisies and am going to cut them down about half before I do so (right?).
My question - Is the daisey head which is partially dry going to produce viable seeds if they are cut off before drying out? I could dry the heads on a screen.
Thank you! Lana

Lana, there's a good chance many of the heads will mature after being cut. I'm not sure that i would cut the heads off at this time. It may or may not help to dry them and many seeds may not be viable. But some will, and there's a chance they may produce more plants for you. We're really getting late to be transplanting them, but just make sure you water them in well. Thanks eric
