Unknown insect/ caterpillar

Asked September 7, 2017, 2:56 PM EDT

This was in the grass at the fam property I work on. Just about two inches long, fuzzy, spotted along the side. Could be some type of moth? Main question is, do I let it be because it's beneficial, or get rid of it because its harmful? Thank you

Neat find!
This is the caterpillar of the Imperial Moth.
(Caterpillars of Eastern North America says "The Imperial Moth is aptly named, being one of our most majestic insects")They come in multiple colors, and feed on many types of common trees.
Leave him be.
