Biologic control of Mile-A-Minute Weed

Asked September 5, 2017, 6:42 AM EDT

Is the New Jersey weevil method of control mentioned in Nevin Dawson's 2011 article available/effective or should I use Roundup? Thanks, Chestertown, MD.

At this time, weevils weaken but do not kill mile a minute. Do not let the vines produce berries. If yours are producing berries, then you'll need to take some action. The plants are practically rootless. Extremely easy to pull--using gloves. The vines do not need to be pulled off plants, but can merely uprooted and left to shrivel up.
