White fungi looking creepy up branches on my cherry trees

Is this killing my tree? I lost a branch and discovered it. Should I get the branches cut. I am afraid the tree could be dying. Look closely at the picture

Howard County Maryland cherry tree tree decay fungi

We viewed your photo. This looks like a type of decay fungi on the branches and/or trunk. This looks like an old decaying tree. All you can do is prune affected branches. We cannot tell from the photo, but if in the main trunk you may have to consider removal.
