Oak tree falling leafs

Asked August 26, 2017, 8:28 AM EDT

I have a large oak tree in my front yard that started dropping its leafs last July but it quit and this last spring it looked fine (Full Leafs) But now again this year about half the leafs have fallen again. Do you have any Idea what could be wrong it otherwise is a beautiful tree and I really don't want to loose it. Thank you Wayne Olson olsonw1@comcast.net 763-439-2201

We would have to see the tree or sharp photos, including close-ups of affected leaves and branches to determine what's causing the symptoms you have described.

If the leaves have spots or marks you may be able to use this tool to diagnose the problem:

If you remain uncertain/concerned, consider asking a certified arborist to assess the tree's health onsite and recommend a course of action.
