Why are my pine trees turning brown?

Asked August 22, 2017, 3:23 PM EDT

Hello, I moved to my current home ~3 years ago. Since then, two of the pine trees in the front yard have been slowly dying. The bottom branches have been slowly turning brown and leafless. Now, the tops are starting to turn brown as well. These trees are ~12 feet tall. In the last week, bees have formed a hive underground, just a foot or so away from the base of the tree. I'm not sure what to do! I really want those trees to live. We've put fertilizer stakes in the ground near them. Thanks, Sachin

It is not possible to diagnose the problem without seeing the tree. I recommend contacting a cerfified arborist to evaluate your trees and tell you what can be done.
