What plant is this?

I found a small ground shrub that produce hard red berries like miniature apples. The leaves are small and clover like with long woody vines. What kind of plant is this? Also, is it edible? Thank you

Thank you for your plant question. This is a Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, also known as common bearberry or kinninnick. Its fruits are edible, but not considered tasty. Here's a link to a Missouri Botanical Garden article on this plant. It's a great ground cover in Oregon.
