Canning sauerkraut in half pint jars

I am interested in canning sauerkraut in half pint jars to give away as gifts. I followed the Ball Book recipe, but it only gives processing times for pints and quarts. Is it safe to can sauerkraut in half pint jars and if so, how long is the process time? Thanks!

Hi - I apologize for the delay, was out of the office.

As long as your sauerkraut if properly fermented, is it perfectly safe to can in half pint jars. Just use the pint processing time. Whenever you use a jar that is smaller than you have a recommendation listed, you go with the next size up. Hope that helps!
