Hello, I am attaching 2 images of a plant that has shown up in my garden. It is very tall, over five feet, and is beginning to have yellow flowers. I am cutting it down since i can't really reach the area to get at the root. Are these pics enough for you to identify this plant growing in SE Pennsylvania? Thanks, Mary Fran

The plant is a wildflower called Common Evening-Primrose (Oenthera biennis). It can grow up to 6 feet high! The pretty yellow flowers open toward evening and wilt the next day. Native Americans used the roots of this plant for various medicinal purposes. Here's a link for more info:
