Invasive (grass??)

Asked August 4, 2017, 12:22 PM EDT

Every year around the end of July a strange type of grass begins to groe in my yard? I think some people refer to it as barn grass or cow grass. It is very annoying and quite invasive. I do fertilize frequently and do use Scotts weed and feed with halts. I have talked to quite a few friends and neighbors who are having the same problem. Many are using a crab grass killer and say that is not working at all. Can you recommend any possible solutions or treatments. This type of weed or grass does not appear in spring or early summer. In fact with all the rain we have had I was proud of how thick and plush my grass was this summer until this grass started to invade.
