Lawn

Asked July 29, 2017, 8:57 PM EDT

Every spring I have these weird patches of grass that seem to be spreading. Early summer a lot of the areas seem to turn brown and die off? What is it and how do I treat for a healthy thick lawn?

We can't be sure by viewing a photo, but what we can see suggests the lawn may be infested with a grassy weed called bentgrass. Other than that, the lawn as a whole appears to be growing well and we do not see dead patches. If those occur at other times, the cause may be any of several lawn patch diseases or even grub damage.
