Maple Chlorosis

Is there any theories as to why I am seeing so many maple trees that are chlorotic this year?

Chlorosis can have many causes, some soil related (pH too high, poor drainage, nutrient deficiency), some weather related (rain leaching out nitrogen, drought, heat), and some environmental (pesticide drift, mechanical damage). So it would be difficult to sort out all these factors in your area. I have not noticed this phenomenon in the Twin Cities. Read here:
