Pine Tree Dying

Asked July 16, 2017, 10:29 AM EDT

Help, I have what appears to be a 30+ feet pine that has been on our property for over 25 years. This year the needles seem very sparse. I haven't noticed any insects. Help.

We viewed your photos but there was not enough information to make a diagnosis. When trees are subject to drought, soil compaction, too much moisture, poor drainage, planting too deeply, root problems, etc. they are susceptible to insect and disease problems.
Dead or dying trees should be removed. For an onsite diagnosis regarding the health of the tree, contact several certified arborists for the best way to proceed .http://www.treesaregood.org/
