Spider mites? Puzzled!

Asked July 5, 2017, 7:23 PM EDT

Are these spider mites? My whole plant is covered in webbing, with tiny brown specks crawling around. Thank you in advance!!

We viewed your photos. This looks like pansies that have a heavy spider mite infestation. We recommend that you remove and discard as the infestation is heavy. Pansies do not like hot weather and start to decline and spider mites can be a problem in hot weather.
Pansies grow best in the fall and early spring in cool conditions. You can plant more pansies this fall. They should overwinter and grow in the spring and then decline.
