Early leaf drop

My native (wild) cherry trees are dropping brown leaves as if it were Fall. Leaves that are still on are green Trees are 12 in dia and unknown age. Any ideas--strange weather patterns, etc. Thanks, Gary

I have not yet heard about this being a region-wide problem this year. Cherry trees are susceptible to many disease problems.
