Brown patch fungus/nitrogen burn

Asked July 1, 2017, 12:01 PM EDT

I would like to get a soil analysis done on my lawn to determine if burn spots are in fact fungus OR merely nitrogen burn from a lawn treatment. It has been a month and spots have not enlarged or increased in number. They appeared two days after treatment was performed on lawn. It was dry and hot that week and I was out of town for a couple of days. Treatment for fungus will be expensive. I would be willing to pay for soil analysis to determine the cause.
