Adding a soluble calcium source such as gypsum to a soil with a high SAR may help with infiltration and other problems if it is followed by leaching with a higher quality water source. Before you do this I would recommend taking a soil sample and having it analyzed with a saline/sodic package from an agricultural laboratory. This way you will know how much gypsum to add and what the current salt level is.
